BLOG // re-brand

So.. you may have noticed I'm re-branding my blog. I'm making it feel more me, me, me!
Inspiration for my new logo comes from my love of peach + grey. I want this blog to represent me so these two colours were a must!

I've also added a profile pic to give you an insight into my personal style! I'll be adding some new cooking columns and will feature some local artists soon. I hope you enjoy my new look and enjoy my quirky personality....by the way how cool is this animation?

A new look for Princess Polly Geelong!

I've been into the Geelong Princess Polly store of late giving it a bit of a re-vamp for spring!
The Polly girls and I are loving everything pastel and pop fluro at the moment, just check out the window display and you'll see what I mean!

In the window are custom made (by my Dad!) wooden cubes which the mannequins sit on. I've painted these with beautiful pink and mint colours, and kept the ply visible for a scandinavian look! One of my favourites parts of this brief was working on these with my Dad!

Elements that I installed this month were the pom pom grouping, neon string hearts, gold photo frames, painted cork circles and my hand-made coat rack with colourful doorknobs.

I had a lot of fun crafting, creating and installing props this for the store! Head in and check it out in person for yourself and say hello to the lovely staff!

DIY hanging pots

These are super easy to make and look amazing too! Follow this link for step by step direction on how to make them - http://www.refinery29.com/3-easy-holiday-gift-diys-under-15/slideshow?page=21#slide-22
I also bought some old doorknobs and screwed them into the wall for a more interesting look than an ordinary hook! Enjoy this easy to do DIY project!

Wedding save the date cards!

Worked on these Save the Date cards for friends Lisa + Shaun a few weeks ago. Lisa wanted something with a handmade look, casual but fun. They come with a magnetic back so you can stick them on your fridge. Very handy! I'm about to start working on their wedding invitations as well, so stay tuned!

Emily Green's Paper Chandelier Workshop!

I was one of the lucky few that attended Emily Green's Paper Chandelier Workshop at Do Re Me early this week. I went along with a couple of friends for some craft and fun times!
We were taught step by step how to make these fabulous paper chandeliers by the lovely Emily Green! She made one of these recently for her own wedding! See pics here.

I was inspired by 'pop colour' and 'neon brights' two terms that are loosely thrown around the office at the moment as this seasons latest colour trends! So I got on board the trend and look what happened!

I am yet to find a permanent spot for my newest creation but in the meantime my white dear is hanging onto it for me!

Jess' Vintage Tea Party!

My lovely friend Jess hosted a vintage tea party on the weekend to raise funds for the cancer council. In her beautiful home she set up her hall way with beautiful furniture decorated with an array of vintage wares. She served up some yummy cakes, scones and of course tea! She is a very talented lady. Check out her blog here. Enjoy pics from the party below and if you need a stylist for your next event send her an email via her blog!

romantic style wedding moodboard

I'm currently working on some ideas for a romantic style wedding and I thought I'd share it with you all! After all who doesn't love a wedding? I've started with collaborating some ideas into this moodboard. The wedding will be a beautiful romantic style with a touch of nature, to represent the couples origin. I'm really loving the combination of pink, white and natural timbers!

SUPER AWESOME Surf & Skate Trash 'N' Treasure event

Checked out the SUPER AWESOME Surf & Skate Trash 'N' Treasure yesterday afternoon in sunny Aireys Inlet. It was a great turn out to re-live an old tradition that started in the 80's. Local victorians cleared out their their garages selling clothing, skateboards, surfboards, wetsuits and art on the lawns of the pub grounds. Check out pics below -

the craft hatch market - melbourne

Went and checked out the Craft Hatch market in Melbourne CBD yesterday. Was directed towards it by the hand drawn illustration of 'craft hatch' on the sidewalk of Little Lonsdale street. It was held in a warehouse bursting of character filled with great artists displaying and selling their work. From jewellery to cushions there was an array of wares to choose from. I particularly liked the paper bowls by 'MOITE', bird badges by 'POMEGRANATE DESIGN' and the necklaces by 'Lorica Apparel'. I highly recommend a visit for any craft lover. The next market is in June.
See the craft hatch website for more details.
