the craft hatch market - melbourne

Went and checked out the Craft Hatch market in Melbourne CBD yesterday. Was directed towards it by the hand drawn illustration of 'craft hatch' on the sidewalk of Little Lonsdale street. It was held in a warehouse bursting of character filled with great artists displaying and selling their work. From jewellery to cushions there was an array of wares to choose from. I particularly liked the paper bowls by 'MOITE', bird badges by 'POMEGRANATE DESIGN' and the necklaces by 'Lorica Apparel'. I highly recommend a visit for any craft lover. The next market is in June.

DIY necklace

I was so inspired by a post on the Design Sponge blog on how to make this cool necklace out of penne pasta! What a clever lady to think of such a creative and cheap thing to make a necklace with. You will be amazed with the results! See how my attempt turned out below.
